\n\tDuring her debut performance at Madison Square Garden, the 38-year-old singer shared an unexpected update with the audience. Just hours before she was set to take the stage for her first music tour<\/a> in 18 years, her 5-year-old daughter, Mae, required an emergency hospital visit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe were in the ER this morning getting some stitches for my 5-year-old,\u201d Duff told the cheering New York City crowd, making sure to clarify that her little girl was \u201cfine.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe\u2019s fine, it\u2019s all good, but it\u2019s very \u2018our family\u2019 coded that I\u2019d be playing my first night at MSG and also be in the emergency room getting my kid stitched up,\u201d she joked. The proud mom also took a moment to praise her daughter directly from the stage, saying, \u201cMae Mae, you\u2019re very brave.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDuff shares Mae, 7-year-old Banks, and 2-year-old Townes with her husband, Matthew Koma, plus 14-year-old Luca from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.<\/p>\n

\n\tBringing her family on the Lucky Me tour was a big priority, but it took some serious planning. She told People<\/em><\/a> in April that she was very intentional about making sure her kids could join her on the road.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI spent hours with my assistant [looking at] the tour schedule, being like, \u2018Okay, I want them here for this stretch. They can go home these days,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a lot of logistics that can seriously bend a brain, but it\u2019s going to be an adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile her younger children are mesmerized by her concerts, Duff\u2019s oldest said he\u2019s not handing out \u201ccool points<\/a>\u201d for her fame. In a May interview with daytime talk show host Jennifer Hudson, Duff said her little ones are her No. 1 fan, but her teenager takes a bit more convincing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy little ones are my number one fan. They want to be at all the shows. It\u2019s so cute,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen my confetti cannons go off, they can\u2019t believe what they\u2019re seeing. It\u2019s really cute. Or if I do like a wardrobe change and I come out in something a little more like [done] up, they\u2019ll be mind blown.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBut my teenager, I think he doesn\u2019t think I\u2019m totally embarrassing,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think it\u2019s coming for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStill, she gets a little validation when Luca\u2019s friends go out of their way to talk to her at school because they recognize her from TikTok. He might not be totally impressed by her pop star status just yet, but pulling off a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden on the same day as a childhood emergency room trip is definitely something to be proud of.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
