With Kara preparing to return home to her own family in Florida, her brother Colton is stepping in to take over primary caregiving duties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKeeping her comfortable has been tough on the family, especially since Keough is choosing to forgo narcotic pain medications despite the severe radiation burns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re still trying to find a nausea treatment that might prevent the painful vomiting but haven\u2019t found the perfect solution yet,\u201d Kara continued. \u201cThe pain is excruciating, and she refuses narcotics so it\u2019s unfortunately a really tough challenge to accept.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading larva \/\/   lrv-a-font-accent-l   \">\n\t\tCelebrating the Small Victories\t<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn previous updates, Kara said that the pain had made it nearly impossible for her mother to eat or drink anything. \u201cEvery day is a battle just to get enough nutrition and hydration to continue treatment,\u201d Kara wrote.
