Last month, Port shared that after spending so much time and money navigating the surrogacy process, they decided to change direction.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m deciding to do these transfers as soon as I can get this hernia removed,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m really proud of myself for how far I\u2019ve come \u2026 the fact that I\u2019m just like ready to do it,\u201d she continued. \u201cI wish that I didn\u2019t have to deal with this annoying hernia surgery in order to do it. But the amazing thing is that fear doesn\u2019t get to decide if I try. I\u2019ve decided, and I feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOn top of her fertility<\/a> struggles, Port has been dealing with her mom<\/a> Vicki\u2019s cognitive decline. As a part of the \u201csandwich generation,\u201d she spends her days raising her 9-year-old while trying to figure out the right daily care for her mom.<\/p>\n \n\tIt\u2019s a lot for one person to carry at once.
