\n\tJenni \u201cJWoww<\/a>\u201d Farley unexpectedly spent her kids\u2019 first day of school in a hospital bed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 41-year-old Jersey Shore <\/em>alum revealed that she\u2019s currently being treated for a severe kidney infection and appendicitis in an Instagram post<\/a> on Sept. 3. In the photo, Farley stands between her 11-year-old daughter, Meilani, and 10-year-old son<\/a>, Greyson, wearing a hospital gown and a smile.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNot the \u2018first day of school\u2019 picture I wanted to post\u2026 but then again, I guess we wouldn\u2019t have one,\u201d she wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRefusing to let the medical emergency ruin their annual routine<\/a>, Farley\u2019s family adjusted their plans so she could still participate in the milestone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHer husband, Zack Carpinello, brought the kids to her hospital room extra early, backpacks in tow. Farley even managed to do her daughter\u2019s hair before sending her off to class.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNo matter where I was, I was going to do my daughter\u2019s hair for her first day,\u201d Farley wrote. \u201cAnd @zackclayton made sure the kids were here extra early this morning so we could all be together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe hospitalization didn\u2019t happen overnight. Farley admitted she hadn\u2019t felt like herself for months before her body finally gave out on Aug. 28.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI want to say it came out of nowhere, but the truth is, I haven\u2019t felt like myself for months,\u201d she shared. \u201cWeight loss, exhaustion, constantly feeling off\u2026 and then last Friday, my body finally said, \u2018We aren\u2019t making it like this anymore.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\tA Gentle Reminder for Back-to-School Season\t<\/h2>\n

\n\tWatching her kids head off to school from a hospital room made Farley think about the pressure parents face this time of year. With social media feeds full of picture-perfect family photos, she wanted to remind fellow parents that plenty of families are quietly dealing with hard times behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSome parents may be scrolling today wishing they could have taken that perfect \u2018first day\u2019 picture,\u201d she wrote. \u201cSo as our kids go back to school<\/a>, please remind them to be kind. Notice the kid sitting alone. Don\u2019t judge someone by what they\u2019re wearing, what they have, or what they didn\u2019t post. You never know what someone is carrying behind closed doors.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat advice hits close to home for Farley, who faced public scrutiny over her changing appearance earlier this summer before people knew what was going on with her health behind the scenes.
