Michael Douglas is proving that age is just a number as he stays on top of his fitness routine.

The 82-year-old Hollywood legend recently shared an Instagram post documenting a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in New York City, and fans are loving his positive energy.

His followers flooded the comments section to praise his active lifestyle. “WOW doing real good, keep it up,” one user commented. “81 and making IG videos. Right on, man!” wrote another. Other fans referenced his iconic past roles, with one noting he was “casually strolling through his old Gordon Gekko stomping grounds.”

After trekking around the city for more than an hour, Douglas checked in with a quick update.

“Oh man, [I’m] tired,” he said before playfully pointing out that his endurance is “not bad” for a guy in his eighties.

Cruising Through the Park

He didn’t spend the entire afternoon on his feet, though. After panning the camera to show off the bustling NYC crowds, the actor decided to give his legs a well-deserved break. He wrapped up his park outing by treating himself to a breezy ride in the back of a pedicab.

The caption read: “Happy Sunday! Back in NYC… nothing beats a Sunday walk through the park and a ride around town. Hope you’re all having a great weekend!”

Ready for ‘One Helluva Ride’

While the Oscar winner is clearly enjoying his downtime in the city, he’s also gearing up for a major career milestone later this year. This fall, Douglas is set to release his highly anticipated memoir, aptly titled One Helluva Ride.

“Big news, folks! My publishers have officially released the title and cover for my new book, One Helluva Ride. And yes, I know…the cover photo was taken a little while ago!” Douglas captioned an Instagram video on July 10. “I’ve spent the last year working hard on this, and I think you’re really going to like it.”

The book is set to hit shelves on Oct. 6, and promises to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at his personal life, including his “turbulent” first marriage and his stage four cancer diagnosis.

Fans can also expect to read stories about his career and on-screen success, tracing his journey from winning his first Academy Award at age 30 for producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest to starring in era-defining hits like Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, and Wall Street.

“Growing up in the shadow of a Hollywood legend, navigating a risk-taking career that has spanned six decades and included films that defined our culture, privately fighting health and family battles while in the glare of the spotlight — Douglas’ life is a towering achievement in perseverance,” Colin Dickerman, SVP and editor-in-chief of Grand Central Publishing, said in a press release.

But for the actor, writing the book was an opportunity to finally reclaim his own narrative.

“I’ve lived a life that unfolded in public while being deeply private at the same time, and there’s a difference,” Douglas added. “This is about where I came from, what I fought against, and what I chose for myself. Fame can blur the truth; this is my attempt to bring it back into focus.”
