Home Fitness Code Y3 Review: The Best-Specified Pad in the Irish Range

The Treadmill Y3 is the model in Home Fitness Code’s Irish line-up where the specification stops making compromises: automatic incline to 12 per cent, a brushless motor, a 150 kg user limit and the lowest noise claim in the range. It costs thirty euro more than the Y1 and, on paper, is the better machine in every way that matters.

Worth checking

Want more gradient? The Treadmill Y5

Twenty euro above the Y3, the Y5 reaches 15 per cent instead of 12, on a 3.0 HP peak brushless motor, and is a kilo and a half lighter at 19.5 kg. Same 150 kg user limit, same under 35 dB claim, same 97 cm belt. Worth a look if you already walk comfortably at 12 per cent.

Who the Y3 suits, and who should look elsewhere

Worth buying if

  • You want incline you can change mid-walk from the remote, rather than a fixed riser you set once.
  • The pad shares a room with other people, or sits above a neighbour. The Y3 carries the range’s lowest noise claim, under 35 dB, on a brushless motor.
  • You are over 120 kg, or close to it. The listed user limit is 150 kg, against 120 kg on the cheaper manual-incline models.
  • You will lift and store it regularly. At 21 kg it is five kilos lighter than the Y1.
  • Walking is the job, with the option of a light jog rather than running.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want to run. The belt is 97 by 39 cm against roughly 140 to 150 cm on a gym treadmill, and the ceiling is 10 km/h.
  • You want an app, Bluetooth or built-in programmes. The Y3 lists none of them: an LED display and a remote control is the whole interface.
  • A fixed slope is all you need. The Z3 gives you 5 per cent for ninety euro less.
  • You want the steepest gradient available. The Y5 reaches 15 per cent for twenty euro more.
  • Colour matters. It is listed in black only.

Home Fitness Code Y3 specifications

Every figure below is the retailer’s own published specification for the Irish store, confirmed on the product page on 18 September 2026. GymBunny has not measured any of them.

Treadmill Y3, retailer-published specifications, checked 18 September 2026
Specification Listed figure What it means in practice
Incline 0 to 12%, automatic, remote-controlled Changed while you walk, in steps. The manual models offer a single 5% setting.
Speed 1 to 10 km/h Desk walking through to a light jog. Not a running speed on a belt this length.
Motor Brushless, 2.5 HP peak Peak, not continuous. Brushless is the reason the noise claim is lower than the Y1’s.
Noise claim Under 35 dB A retailer figure measured under conditions they do not publish. The Y1 claims under 50 dB.
Belt area 97 × 39 cm Fine for walking. Tight for a jog, and tighter again on a slope, when your stride lengthens.
User weight limit 150 kg The highest in the Irish range alongside the Y5. The manual models list 120 kg.
Unit weight 21 kg Liftable by most adults, but it is a two-handed job.
Dimensions 116 × 52 × 15 cm Flat enough for under a sofa or most beds. Check your clearance against 15 cm.
Display LED: time, speed, calories, distance, incline Calories are estimated from time and speed without your body weight, so treat them as a rough relative measure.
Included Remote control, power cable, Allen key, silicone oil Installation-free. Handrail and mat are separate variant options at checkout.
Warranty 12 months Standard for the range, and thin cover for a powered incline mechanism.

The retailer’s dimensions diagram. Deck 116 × 52 cm, belt 97 × 39 cm, 15 cm tall when flat.

What 12 per cent incline actually means on a pad this size

Twelve per cent is a gradient, not an angle: it works out at roughly 6.8 degrees. That sounds modest written down and is considerably less modest twenty minutes into a walk, because incline raises effort without asking you to walk any faster. On a desk pad that is the whole point.

The clearance problem nobody mentions

Incline works by lifting the front of the deck, so the machine gets taller as the gradient goes up. A 12 per cent gradient across a 116 cm deck raises the front by roughly 14 cm. Added to the 15 cm the deck already stands when flat, the front end sits somewhere around 29 cm off the floor at full incline.

Worth measuring before you order

That figure is arithmetic from the retailer’s published gradient and deck length, not something GymBunny has measured, and the real rise depends on where the lift mechanism sits under the deck. The point stands either way: if you plan to walk under a standing desk at full incline, your head ends up roughly 15 cm higher than it would on the flat.

Measure from your floor to the underside of your desk, subtract your own height in shoes, and see what you have left. Most people find they use the top of the range for dedicated sessions and something gentler while working.

Stride length is the real limit

Walking uphill lengthens your stride. On a 97 cm belt that leaves less margin front and back than the same walk on the flat, and less again if you speed up. It is manageable, and it asks for more attention to foot placement than a gym treadmill does. Build up to the steeper settings rather than starting there.

Treadmill Y3 or Folding Treadmill Y3?

Home Fitness Code sells two machines called Y3, and the names differ by one word. This is the single easiest mistake to make when ordering from this range, so it is worth being deliberate about which one you want.

Size in use Same, it does not fold 116 × 52 × 114.5 cm with the handrail up
Handrail Optional variant at checkout Built in, folds down
The counter-intuitive bit

The folding version is larger when stored flat, not smaller: 128 by 59 cm against 116 by 52 cm, and three kilos heavier. What folding buys you is the ability to stand it upright against a wall with the handrail down. If your storage plan is under a bed or sofa, the plain Y3 is the smaller machine and the cheaper one. If it is a corner or a wardrobe, the folding version is the one that works.

The handrail itself is worth a thought separately. It is genuinely useful if you are less steady on your feet or walking at a steep gradient, and it gets in the way of a desk. On the plain Y3 you choose at checkout; on the folding version it is part of the machine.

Check the Folding Y3 price and specification if the upright storage is what you need.

Y3 versus Y1 and Y5: where the thirty euro goes

Three models in the Irish range offer automatic incline. The price ladder runs Y1, Y3, Y5, and the order of the prices does not match the order of the specifications.

The three automatic-incline models compared. Retailer specifications and prices, checked 18 September 2026.
Model Price Incline Motor Noise claim User limit Unit weight
Treadmill Y1 €169.99 0 to 12% Brush, 3.0 HP peak Under 50 dB 145 kg 26 kg
Treadmill Y3 €199.99 0 to 12% Brushless, 2.5 HP peak Under 35 dB 150 kg 21 kg
Treadmill Y5 €219.99 0 to 15% Brushless, 3.0 HP peak Under 35 dB 150 kg 19.5 kg

Y3 against Y1

The Y1 is thirty euro cheaper and reaches the same 12 per cent. On every other line it is the weaker machine on paper: a brush motor rather than brushless, a noise claim of under 50 dB against under 35, five kilos heavier to lift, and a slightly lower user limit. The Y1’s higher peak horsepower figure is the one number in its favour, and peak horsepower on a walking pad is a marketing figure rather than a useful one.

If thirty euro is the difference between buying and not buying, the Y1 still gets you adjustable incline. If it is not, the Y3 is the better machine, and the noise gap is the reason most people will notice. Read the Home Fitness Code Y1 review for the full picture on that model.

Y3 against Y5

Twenty euro more buys three extra percentage points of gradient, a 3.0 HP peak motor and a kilo and a half less weight. Everything else matches. That is worth paying if you are already comfortable walking at 12 per cent and want headroom. If you have not used incline before, the top of the Y3’s range will be hard enough for a long while, and 15 per cent puts more load through the knees and lower back.

Both comparisons assume you want automatic incline at all. If a fixed slope would do, the Z3 offers 5 per cent manual at €109.99 and is the lightest and quietest-claimed machine in the range. The full Home Fitness Code brand review compares all fourteen models on one page.

Buying the Y3 from Ireland: delivery, returns and the 96-hour rule

The Irish store prices in euro and ships from Germany. The delivery side is straightforward. The returns side has two conditions that are easy to miss and expensive to miss.

Delivery

  • Free delivery to Ireland.
  • Shipped from Germany by DPD or DHL.
  • Roughly one to two working days of processing plus about six to seven working days in transit.
  • Listings checked show a UK plug, which fits Irish sockets.

Returns, in the retailer’s own words

  • Thirty days, counted from the date the goods are signed for, not from when you ordered.
  • If the machine arrives damaged or faulty, you must send photo or video evidence within 96 hours. Miss that window and the retailer treats the return as a change of mind.
  • On a change-of-mind return, you pay the return postage. On a 21 kg boxed treadmill going back to the continent, that is not a small number.
  • Returns must be packaged: their couriers will not carry unpackaged items, and poor packaging can attract a damage charge.
  • Refunds are processed within seven working days of the return arriving.
What to actually do

Unbox and run the machine the day it arrives, photograph anything that looks wrong straight away, and keep the box until you are certain you are keeping it. Those two habits cover both conditions above, and the second one costs you nothing but cupboard space for a month.

Delivery, returns and warranty terms summarised from the retailer’s published policy pages and Irish product listings, checked 18 September 2026. Terms change, so confirm them before you order. Company details are covered in where Home Fitness Code is located.

Home Fitness Code Y3 questions

Is the Y3 worth thirty euro more than the Y1?

On the published specifications, yes. Both reach 12 per cent incline, but the Y3 uses a brushless motor with a noise claim of under 35 dB against the Y1’s under 50 dB, weighs five kilos less to lift and carries a slightly higher user limit. The noise difference is the one most people will notice day to day, particularly in a shared room or an apartment.

Can you run on the Home Fitness Code Y3?

It reaches 10 km/h, which is a jog for most people, on a belt of 97 by 39 cm. A gym treadmill gives you roughly 140 to 150 cm. Treat the Y3 as a walking machine that tolerates a short jog rather than a running machine. If running is the goal, a compact treadmill with a longer belt is the category to look at.

Does the Y3 have an app or Bluetooth?

No. The Y3 listing specifies an LED display showing time, speed, calories, distance and incline, plus a remote control, and mentions no app, Bluetooth or programme suite anywhere in its specification. Worth knowing: the Y5 further up the range carries app-control images in its gallery, with Play Store and App Store badges, although its written specification does not mention an app either. If connected tracking matters to you, ask the retailer to confirm before ordering rather than relying on gallery images.

Will it fit under a standing desk at full incline?

It depends on your desk and your height. The deck is 15 cm tall flat, and a 12 per cent gradient over a 116 cm deck lifts the front by roughly another 14 cm, so you stand noticeably higher at the top of the range. Measure from your floor to the underside of your desk and subtract your height in shoes. Most people use a gentler gradient while working and save the steep settings for dedicated sessions.

What is the difference between the Treadmill Y3 and the Folding Treadmill Y3?

The mechanics are identical: same incline, speed, motor, belt and user limit. The folding version adds a built-in handrail that folds down so the machine can stand upright, costs thirty euro more, weighs 24.2 kg against 21 kg, and is larger when stored flat at 128 by 59 cm against 116 by 52 cm. Buy the folding one if you will store it upright in a corner. Buy the plain one if it goes under a bed or sofa.

How long is the warranty?

Twelve months, which is standard across this range. It is worth noting that a powered incline mechanism is a moving part, and twelve months is modest cover for one at any price.

Has GymBunny tested the Y3?

No. This is a specification-led review built from the retailer’s published figures, policy pages and Irish product listings, plus editorial comparison against the other models in the range. Nothing on this page is a measurement GymBunny has taken, and where a figure is a retailer claim the page says so.

The verdict on the Home Fitness Code Y3

The Y3 is the point in this range where you stop paying for compromises. Brushless motor, the lowest published noise figure of the fourteen models, the joint-highest user limit, adjustable incline to 12 per cent and 21 kg to lift, at thirty euro over the model most people buy by default.

What it does not do is run, connect to anything, or come with cover you would call generous. Those are the honest limits, and none of them is unusual at this price.

If you want incline you will genuinely use, in a room where noise matters, it is the sensible pick in the Irish Home Fitness Code line-up.
